At a very young age Mark Purrington's passion and skill surfaced as a musician and amateur golfer. A Massachusetts native, his reputation and junior amateur record(2002 Massachusetts State Junior Champion) suggested early on a professional golf career. However, his musical passion led him to Boston, MA where he studied at Berklee College of Music and worked full time as a professional drummer and instructor at MJ's Music School in Waltham. In 2012 Mark's passion for golf and competition resurfaced and led him to a successful 2012 Amateur Season. He was a Quarter Finalist in the Massachusetts Amateur Championship and winner of both the South Coast Amateur and Massachusetts Southeastern Amateur Golf Tournaments. With intentions of turning professional in 2013, Mark relocated to South Florida and began playing on the Golf Slinger tour. He has been steadily improving as a professional and had his best finish over the 2014 summer at the Maine State Open where he finished 2nd out of the strong 156 player field. Mark is looking forward to a successful 2015 season.
